Six Fall Cocktails to Try While Camping

On your next fall camping adventure, relax by the fire with a fall cocktail.

Campfire cocktails are the perfect way to top off an already amazing day once you are settling into your camper van after a day of play. Whether you like Hot Toddies, mulled wine, or an old fashioned, any of these easy fall cocktails will warm you right up.

What makes these fall cocktails so great for your next camper van road trip? With only four or five ingredients, you’ll be sipping on something delicious in no time at all. And, when the instructions call for a shaker, you can use any camp mug or water bottle you have at hand. You just need something with a lid so you can shake these fall cocktails up. Plus, we’ve got a non-alcoholic option as well. Enjoy!

Rosemary Maple Bourbon Sour

As our friends at Shake say, this is, simply put, a perfect fall cocktail. Dark amber maple syrup lends a deep, rich, and sweet note to this herbaceous take on a Whiskey Sour.

Ingredients
3 shots bourbon
1 and 1/2 shots fresh lemon juice
3/4 shot dark maple syrup
sprig of rosemary

Crush the sprig of rosemary in your hand and add it to your shaker (aka whatever you have in your camper van).

Add the bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup, and ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.

Pour the mixture into your camp mug. Bonus points if you have ice on hand.

Apple Spice Hot Toddy

When it comes to making the perfect Hot Toddy, it all starts with fall spices. Grab your favorite camping mug and enjoy this flavorful and warming apple cider cocktail for your next camper van trip.

Ingredients
4 ounces (1/2 cup) apple cider
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons honey
1 cinnamon stick
2 ounces (1/4 cup) bourbon

Combine the apple cider, lemon juice, honey, and cinnamon stick in a small pan.

Bring to a boil over medium-low heat, then reduce heat and simmer for about five minutes.

Remove from heat, stir in the bourbon, pour into your camp mug. Extra credit if you garnish with an apple slice.

Cranberry Crush

This drink is festive and perfect for fall with its pop of red from the cranberries.

Ingredients
2 shots vodka
1 shot fresh lemon juice
1 shot honey
6 cranberries (plus more for garnish)
seltzer water

Add the lemon juice, honey, and cranberries to your shaker (we've said it before ... aka whatever you have in your camper van).

Muddle everything in the bottom of the shaker until thoroughly crushed.

Add the vodka and ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds or so.

Strain the mixture into camp mugs with ice. Top with seltzer and garnish with lemon and cranberries.

Mulled Wine

You've got a pot to mull your wine in plus a stovetop inside your camper van. Sweet! The trick to a perfect mulled wine is to not let is boil.

Ingredients
allspice berries, whole cloves, star anise pods, cinnamon sticks
1 750 ml bottle dry red wine
½ cup water
¼ cup maple syrup or honey
¼ cup brandy
1 orange, for garnish

Put the wine, water, sweetener, and spices on the stove and gently heat for a half hour. Don't let the liquid come to a boil.

Remove from the heat, add some brandy, strain into your camp mug and garnish with the orange.

Grove and Ginger

This one is super easy, and non-alcoholic so everyone can enjoy it! What this drink lacks in alcohol it makes up for in flavor. We're guessing it'll soon be your new favorite.

Ingredients
Seedlip Grove 42
ginger ale
grated ginger for extra kick
lemon slice for garnish

This is a "to taste" kind of drink. Start with the ginger ale.

Then add the Seedlip Grove, some ginger, and a twist of lemon. Keep playing with the proportions until you love it.

St-Germain Chocolat Epice

Just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean you can’t love hot cocoa on a cold night! Try this boozy spin on one of our fall favorites.

Ingredients
1 ounce Silver Tequila
½ ounce St-Germain
4 ounces (1/2 cup) hot chocolate
marshmallows

Heat up the hot chocolate until warm. You can make your hot chocolate with either water or milk.

Stir in the alcohol.

Garnish with marshmallows.
