COVID-19 Update

Dear GoCamp Community,

Hello from a safe distance! 👋

Just a few days ago it seemed reasonable to accommodate people’s need to get some fresh air by encouraging camper van rentals. Today it doesn’t seem like such a good idea.

Here’s our current thinking on the COVID-19 situation.

California, Oregon and Washington have issued stay-at-home orders. In Colorado, the other state we operate in, Denver has done the same. Borders are closed; non-essential travel is strongly discouraged or outright banned. State and national parks are closing or restricting access. The risk of straining the resources of rural communities with travel to recreational areas is coming into sharper focus. ⁣⁣⁣

While we will continue to book summer and fall trips with departure dates on or after May 1, we are not currently accepting any new reservations for travel in April. We’ll re-evaluate the moratorium on April reservations as the situation evolves. But for now, GoCamp is going to hunker down and do our part.⁣⁣⁣

As for me personally, I’m focusing on the small things we can be grateful for, and GoCamp’s van owners and renters are at the top of the list! I’m keeping my spirits up by turning off my phone and pouring over all my maps and trail guides. I’m dreaming about a future adventure in my camper van.

I do hope you’ll schedule a future adventure of your own in one of our GoCamp vans. It’ll feel good to have something to look forward to on the calendar. If things haven’t settled down by your departure date, you can cancel or change your reservation without penalty.

Dear GoCamp Community,

Every day brings a new development with regard to the novel coronavirus; the situation is unsettling for sure. As this unfolds within our local communities and the world at large, we’re focusing on gratitude, on the natural resilience of people and the planet, and on that which is within our control.

As we focus on what is within our control at GoCamp, here is what we know:⁣⁣
⁣⁣

  • We offer homes on wheels. Though festivals and large group gatherings are out right now, alone time in a camper van has always been “in.”
  • We will accommodate cancellations or changes. We have updated our cancellation policy. If you currently have a trip booked with GoCamp, nothing will change unless you want or need it to. If you need to make changes, we are waiving all cancellation fees and offering changes to existing reservations at no cost.⁣⁣
  • All GoCamp vans are meticulously cleaned and disinfected between rentals. We are working with all of our camper van owners to ensure that the highest standards are being met in compliance with the latest information from the CDC. ⁣⁣
  • Low season pricing has been extended through May 30. The economic impacts of this global crisis for small businesses like GoCamp are enormous, and they are equally significant at the household level. If you would like to take a camper van trip, please know that we have enacted site wide discounted pricing, and we will be extending low season pricing through the end of May.⁣⁣
