Eurovans

Some say the Eurovan takes the rough out of roughing it. Easy to drive, the Eurovan is considered car-like with its cruise control, power windows, power locks, rack-and-pinion steering, and independent suspension. In the summer, the A/C provides welcome relief, and in many of our vans,  winter camping is made possible by a propane furnace that keeps you toasty and warm.

Vanagons

GoWesty describes the Vanagon as “the last of a now dead breed: rear engine, rear wheel drive, sit-over-the-front-wheels, lean-over-the-steering-wheel-listening-to-groovy-tunes kinda rig.” We agree. Vanagons are pretty special. The classic road trip vehicle, when you rent a GoCamp Vanagon you immediately join an exclusive club. On the road, you’ll be greeted by other Westy drivers with a cool head nod, maybe a slight raise of the index finger. Nod back; you got this.

Known for their iconic style, every inch of a Vanagon is put to good use, with clever, built-in cabinetry and detailing that you just don’t see anymore. Vanagons have a 96 inch wheelbase (as opposed to the Eurovan’s 136 inch wheelbase) and are very easy to maneuver, especially around winding forest service roads. They also generally have more ground clearance than the Eurovan.

Add in the large format photos for each type like on the original page? I can't replicate what you did there Christopher. :)

Camper or Weekender?

When looking at Vanagons and Eurovans, you've got one more decision to make.... Eurovans and Vanagons come in two different styles. Both have the pop-top!

Campers include a kitchen set up: sink, water tank, and a two-burner gas stove with either a small fridge or a small cooler for keeping your perishables cold. In Eurovans, the same propane tank that powers the stove also provides heat in the winter to keep you toasty and warm. The schematic below is intended to be illustrative. There are slight differences between Vanagons and Eurovans and even more slight differences depending on the year of the vehicle, but the image below should give you a good sense. (Christopher - see PDFs I sent over... Hoping that we can pop in the layout schematics and then run two columns with specs underneath... I'll want to be able to edit the info in the columns.)

Weekenders have space. Without the built-in kitchenette, you’ll have 2 additional rear facing (removable) jump seats, a larger sleeping area and a more flexible floor plan. Rest assured, we send you off with a fully-equipped exterior kitchen set up and everything you'll need to cook. See caveats in the proceeding paragraph about the limitations of our awesome illustration below.

Eurovan Weekender
