Want to pick up a camper van in Portland and drive down the coast via Highway 1 - stopping at every beautiful beach, tall tree, and awe inspiring sunset along the way - then fly home out of Los Angeles? Of course you do!
Driving the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) is a bucket list kind of adventure. We're pleased to announce that GoCamp is now able to offer one-way rentals. You can pick up a van in Portland, Boise or San Francisco and make arrangements to drop it off at several major cities (think Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles) depending on your itinerary and needs.
When perusing GoCamp vans, look for a note in the profile that says "YES, this van will consider one-way rental requests." Or, easier still, see the list below for vans in San Francisco and Portland that will accept one-way requests.
San Francisco: The owners of The Van Morrison, Marin Mountaineer, and Roofus will help you start an epic road trip in the San Francisco Bay Area but finish it somewhere else.
Portland: Tilly Jane, Obsidian and on occassion the Rogue offer one-way rentals that originate in Portland.
How Does it Work? You'll pay a $200 one-way placeholder fee at the time of booking and be responsible for covering the owner's real costs for recovering the vehicle. Before booking, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can work with you to provide an accurate estimate. Tell us where you'd like to pick up and drop off, a little bit about your party and plans, and your preferred dates.
STOPS ALONG THE WAY: Now, what about your itinerary and all those stops along the way? We love perusing Local Adventurers' trip notes and suggestions. See their Ultimate Oregon Coast Road Trip and Ultimate California Coast Road Trip for inspiration.
