Hygge Van, a Mercedes Metris camper van, is the modern take on the classic Westfalia van. You’ll get the classic camper van experience with all the amenities you expect from a modern Mercedes. This van was upfitted by the amazing team at Peace Vans in Seattle.

The rear folding bench seat seats 3, with 2 anchor points for rear-facing car seats. The seat also moves into 4 locations along the floor rail system for different cargo configurations. The front captain’s seats swivel for meals or game nights around the portable table. The stereo system is Bluetooth-equipped so you can enjoy your own music and podcasts.

Sleeping accommodations include room for two on the fold-flat bench seat and room for two more in the spacious pop-top. On cold nights you can stay warm with the built-in gas-powered Webasto heater. The van includes a built-in two-burner stove, sink, and refrigerator. Exterior upgrades include an 8-foot Fiamma awning and a 1.5 inch suspension lift.

Hop in and Go

All vans are considered “road trip ready.” Whether you are flying in from out of town or looking to explore your own backyard, all you really need to do is stop for groceries before hitting the road. All cookware and tableware is included, as is bedding and a wide array of camping gear. You’ll be sent a detailed list of all the items included in the van before your trip so you can plan accordingly. Select any of the optional add-ons listed below when completing your reservation.

Pick Up and Drop Off

Rentals are Calculated on a 24-hour Basis: The rental period is generally considered to be 24 hours. If you pick up the van at 10 am, you’ll be expected to return it around 10 am. Most van owners can accommodate requests for a few extra hours at $20/hour. Alternatively, if you want to pick up in the morning and drop off in the evening, simply select the optional half day add-on when completing your reservation.

Pick Up and Drop Off Time: There is no set pick up and drop off time. You’ll make arrangements suited to your needs and schedule with the van’s owner. You can indicate your preferred pick up and drop off time when completing your reservation; final arrangements will be confirmed with the van’s owner.



Insurance coverage includes $1 million in liability to the renter, $1 million in liability to the van owner, and comp and collision coverage up to $200,000. For most rentals, coverage costs $37.50/day. For our premium vans, coverage costs $47.50/day. In both instances, insurance is required as part of the rental.

Roadside Assistance

We make 24-hour roadside assistance available for $15 a day. Coverage includes unlimited: towing, flat tire assistance, emergency fluids delivery, battery boost, and a mobile mechanic. Many van owners require 24-hour roadside assistance as part of the rental. Where coverage is mandatory, you must either purchase our policy, or show proof of comparable coverage, including 1) RV towing and 2) towing distance of 100+ miles.


125 miles per day is included in every rental. Additional miles are charged 35 - 50 cents per mile depending on the vehicle. For example, on a four-night rental, you will have 500 free miles. If you traveled 600 miles, at 35 cents a mile you would pay an additional $35 at the end of your trip.

Security Deposit

You’ll pay a security deposit of $1,000 - $1500 (vehicle dependent) two days before your rental starts. The security deposit is returned, less any additional fees, usually no more than 7 days after you return.

  • Cancellation Policy

    You can reschedule your reservation without penalty. You can cancel the vehicle for a full refund, less a 5% service fee, up to 14 days prior to the rental. If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the rental, you will receive a refund for 50% of the rental fee. Cancellations must be made in writing.

    We are unable to offer refunds for shortened trips if for some reason (e.g. weather, change in schedule) you return the vehicle early. See also our COVID-19 policies.
