The 320 watts of solar power combined with a 260AH battery array ensure that your interior lighting, charging, fridge, and potty are powered up. The heater should only be used with an actual power hookup, such as a campsite with power included.

Includes a two-burner Coleman stove (with propane!). The 35 liter Rtic cooler provides plenty of space for all of your food (Yeti ice included). The drop-sink is also pretty and practical, and is connected to a 15 gallon fresh water tank.

An easy to use cassette toilet is installed and comes in handy while on the road….less stops means getting to your destination that much faster! The cassette is simple to dump in any toilet or RV dump station.

Seating: We built this with our growing family in mind…the van is just large enough for our family of 6 to travel and sleep in! A factory seat is installed with 4 shoulder seatbelts in the back of the van (and there are three front seats), so it can safely transport up to 7 passengers (including up to 4 car seats).

Sleeping: With some creativity, families with smaller kiddos can sleep up to 6 people inside the van. For sleeping arrangements, we typically have one of the sisters on the bench seat, two of the older sisters + the 2 year old + my wife on the bed, and I’m on the floor of course! Two sleeping pads and a blow-up camping pad makes that setup super comfy…I can include these in your rental!

Storage: There is a lot of built-in storage in the van…at the entrance, in the kitchen, under the bench seat, under the rear bed…and plenty of hooks throughout! Feel free to tie anything down to the roof-rack as well (bags, luggage, boards, etc.).

Ventilation: The van is equipped with the newest model MaxxFan, and all four side windows have cranks and can be opened / closed to suit your needs. We typically run the fan as exhaust and open all four windows to force fresh air into the van (if we are not parked in a spot with a breeze).

Here are some extras that will be included to ensure that you have a successful adventure:
Camp Axe
First Aid Kit
Cooking Pots/Pans & Splatter Guard
Disposable Utensils / Plates / Paper Towels
Fresh Linen / Pillows / Blankets
Cleaning Supplies

We look forward to meeting you and hearing about your great experiences in the van! Definitely reach out with any questions. 🙂

**Alternate pick-up & drop-off locations outside of San Diego available / ask us about one-way rentals!

Hop in and Go

All vans are considered “road trip ready.” Whether you are flying in from out of town or looking to explore your own backyard, all you really need to do is stop for groceries before hitting the road. All cookware and tableware is included, as is bedding and a wide array of camping gear. You’ll be sent a detailed list of all the items included in the van before your trip so you can plan accordingly. Select any of the optional add-ons listed below when completing your reservation.

Optional Add-ons

  • Half Day
Want to pick up in the morning but drop off in the late afternoon? Need extra time? Add a half day to your reservation.
  • Pet Fee
    Bring your four-legged friend.
  • Pick Up or Drop Off in LA
If you'd like, we can meet you in LA.
  • Dump Fee
We typically use the cassette toilet for liquids only. Either way, it needs to be dumped and cleaned prior to return. If this is not possible, I will add the dump fee to the rental upon return.
  • Extra Power
Goal Zero Yeti 1000 will give you an additional 100 Ah of power. Typically used outside to power campsite lights / stereo / etc. Can also be used to charge up the house battery!

Book Your Trip

Pick Up and Drop Off

Rentals are Calculated on a 24-hour Basis: The rental period is generally considered to be 24 hours. If you pick up the van at 10 am, you’ll be expected to return it around 10 am. Most van owners can accommodate requests for a few extra hours at $20/hour. Alternatively, if you want to pick up in the morning and drop off in the evening, simply select the optional half day add-on when completing your reservation.

Pick Up and Drop Off Time: There is no set pick up and drop off time. You’ll make arrangements suited to your needs and schedule with the van’s owner. You can indicate your preferred pick up and drop off time when completing your reservation; final arrangements will be confirmed with the van’s owner.

Insurance coverage includes $1 million in liability to the renter, $1 million in liability to the van owner, and comp and collision coverage up to $200,000. For most rentals, coverage costs $37.50/day. For our premium vans, coverage costs $47.50/day. In both instances, insurance is required as part of the rental.

Roadside Assistance

We make 24-hour roadside assistance available for $15 a day. Coverage includes unlimited: towing, flat tire assistance, emergency fluids delivery, battery boost, and a mobile mechanic. Many van owners require 24-hour roadside assistance as part of the rental. Where coverage is mandatory, you must either purchase our policy, or show proof of comparable coverage, including 1) RV towing and 2) towing distance of 100+ miles.

125 miles per day is included in every rental. Additional miles are charged 35 - 50 cents per mile depending on the vehicle. For example, on a four-night rental, you will have 500 free miles. If you traveled 600 miles, at 35 cents a mile you would pay an additional $35 at the end of your trip.

Security Deposit

You’ll pay a security deposit of $1,000 - $1500 (vehicle dependent) two days before your rental starts. The security deposit is returned, less any additional fees, usually no more than 7 days after you return.

  • Cancellation Policy

You can reschedule your reservation without penalty. You can cancel the vehicle for a full refund, less a 5% service fee, up to 14 days prior to the rental. If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the rental, you will receive a refund for 50% of the rental fee. Cancellations must be made in writing.

We are unable to offer refunds for shortened trips if for some reason (e.g. weather, change in schedule) you return the vehicle early. See also our COVID-19 policies.
