The Desert Rose is designed to be your base camp as you explore the awe-inspiring beauty of the great outdoors! Heading into the desert to camp off grid? This rig is ready for you to just throw your gear in and head out! Though minimalist in design, it’s packed with creature comforts to give even the hardiest adventurer a soft place to lay their head at night.

Serve up a delicious meal in the galley kitchen or take the Camp Chef camp stove outdoors using the table and chairs provided. Keep essentials cool in the refrigerator-style cooler that runs off the auxiliary battery. Everything you’ll need to make the perfect gourmet meal is packed and ready to go!

Cozy in after a day of adventure. The Desert Rose features a thick memory foam mattress and comfy bedding. LED reading lights mean you can get comfortably lost in a good book. Swing open the back doors for a front row seat to the star show on the big screen…or to let in a little breeze. On chilly nights, use the Mr. Buddy heater and insulated window coverings to stay toasty.

Keep essentials charged throughout your trip; The Desert Rose has an inverter and solar panels. Rinse off after a day of adventure using the outdoor shower with hot and cold water.

Stow extra gear in the “garage” underneath the platform bed. Extra cooler, water jug, and Porta Potti are packed and ready to go. With The Desert Rose, it’s the little extras like the outdoor solar lighting and camp rug that make any trip into a memorable vacation.

All vans are considered “road trip ready.” Whether you are flying in from out of town or looking to explore your own backyard, all you really need to do is stop for groceries before hitting the road. All cookware and tableware is included, as is bedding and a wide array of camping gear. Pick Up and Drop Off

Rentals are Calculated on a 24-hour Basis: The rental period is generally considered to be 24 hours. If you pick up the van at 10 am, you’ll be expected to return it around 10 am. Most van owners can accommodate requests for a few extra hours at $20/hour. Alternatively, if you want to pick up in the morning and drop off in the evening, simply select the optional half day add-on when completing your reservation.

Pick Up and Drop Off Time: There is no set pick up and drop off time. You’ll make arrangements suited to your needs and schedule with the van’s owner. You can indicate your preferred pick up and drop off time when completing your reservation; final arrangements will be confirmed with the van’s owner.

Insurance

Insurance coverage includes $1 million in liability to the renter, $1 million in liability to the van owner, and comp and collision coverage up to $200,000. For most rentals, coverage costs $39.50/day. For our premium vans, coverage costs $49.50/day. In both instances, insurance is required as part of the rental.

Roadside Assistance

We make 24-hour roadside assistance available for $15 a day. Coverage includes: towing, flat tire assistance, emergency fluids delivery, battery boost, and a mobile mechanic. Many van owners require 24-hour roadside assistance as part of the rental. Where coverage is mandatory, you must either purchase our policy, or show proof of comparable coverage, including 1) RV towing and 2) towing distance of 100+ miles.

Mileage

125 miles per night is included in every rental. Additional miles are charged 35 cents - $1 per mile depending on the vehicle. For example, on a four-night rental, you will have 500 free miles. If you traveled 600 miles, at 35 cents a mile you would pay an additional $35 at the end of your trip.

Security Deposit

We'll place an authority to charge $1,000 - $1500 (vehicle dependent) on your card two days before your rental starts. The authority to charge is released, less any additional fees, usually no more than seven days after you return.

  • Cancellation Policy

    Standard cancellation policy: You can reschedule your trip one time in the same van with no penalty up to 48 hours prior to the rental. Requests to reschedule a trip a second time will incur a 5% rescheduling fee. You can cancel your reservation for a full refund, less a 5% service fee, up to 14 days prior to the rental. If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the rental, you will receive a refund for 50% of the rental fee. Cancellations must be made in writing. We are unable to offer refunds for shortened trips if for some reason (e.g. weather, change in schedule) you return the vehicle early. If we cancel the reservation you will receive a full refund.

    One-way trip cancellation policy: One-way trips cannot be rescheduled. You can cancel your reservation for a full refund, less a 5% service fee, up to 30 days prior to the rental. If you cancel 15 – 29 days prior to the rental, you will forfeit 100% of the one-way fee and receive a full refund on the remaining reservation line items, less a 5% service fee. If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the rental, you will forfeit 100% of the one-way fee and receive a refund for 50% of the remaining rental fees. Cancellations must be made in writing.
